food safetyPhoslab Testing Laboratories provides state-of-the-art food and beverage testing to ensure that consumable products are free of harmful chemicals, preservatives and contaminants. Food distributors and suppliers can stay consistently compliant with stringent FDA safety guidelines, thanks to our comprehensive laboratory analysis.

FDA Food Testing

Do your products satisfy FDA (Food and Drug Administration) requirements? We use the same testing methods used by FDA itself to ensure you are in compliance with the latest regulations. Our FDA food testing services ensure that products do not exceed a specified threshold of known contaminants, pesticides, and harmful preservatives. The FDA also frequently makes changes to the guidelines based on the latest studies and research findings. Phoslab Testing Laboratories stays up to date and modifies its testing in accordance.

FDA Food Safety Test

Quality assurance is non-negotiable when it comes to food safety testing. We utilize the latest methodologies for producing reliable results. Some of our testing procedures include:

  • Chemical analysis – tests foods and beverages to determine chemical constituents, such as added water, protein, fat, and moisture.
  • Microbiological analysis – this testing is especially important for meat products. Testing looks for traces of known dangerous organisms, such as e.Coli, Listeria, Salmonella, and others.
  • Imported meat sampling – we test samples of meat brought to the country from overseas. Products must satisfy guidelines according to the Meat Importers Council of America.

Food Nutrition Labels

Phoslab Testing Laboratories also performs testing to determine an accurate breakdown of macro and micronutrients, as well as concentrations of vitamins and minerals. According to a 2014 FDA Health and Diet Survey, 77% of adults listed “always,” “most of the time,” or “sometimes” when asked whether they read the nutritional label on food products.

Send us a sample of your item, and we will test it to determine the general information found on a typical food nutrition label, including:

  • Total calories per serving
  • Protein and carbohydrate per serving
  • Total fat per serving, including breakdown according to saturated fat, monounsaturated fat, trans fat, etc.
  • Concentration of essential vitamins
  • Concentration of specific mineral content (e.g. zinc, iron, calcium)

Our results provide you all the information you need for an FDA-compliant label. This also ensures accuracy for food manufacturers that market their products as gluten-free, sugar-free, etc.

Food Consulting

Aside from testing, we also provide our clients with professional food consulting. This can encompass a range of advice. We provide industry expertise on:

  • The ingredients to use
  • The preparation process (e.g. pasteurized, cold-pressed, hydrolyzed)
  • Determining optimal nutrition
